Cheryl at the visitor center had a funny phone call from a reporter in Bend, Oregon. It seems its 8 degrees there and they wanted to know what us folks here on the coast were doing in our balmy 37 degrees. As cold as it feels to us, we were the warmest spot in the state!
On the plus side, it gave cheryl a chance to brag about the great crabbing and storm watching that’s going on right now.
Tip for the day: If you want to go out to get some holiday cheer, but still want to stay warm, stop by the charleston volunteer fire dept. They have their fabulous train exhibit they do every Christmas that has over 250 miniature buildings, Christmas lights and for lack of a better word, is really neat.
The best part, plenty of coffee and warm drinks with cookies and its indoors! Every night from 6pm – 10pm. They are located on Cape Arago Hwy between Empire and Charleston.
