For all of you “foodies” out there, when you visit the Oregon Coast, you just gotta try the seafood. There are plenty of options for all tastes throughout the Coos Bay/North Bend/Charleston area (just see our Local Dining Guide).
BUT to find the very best our area has to offer, you have to ask the locals.
When a visitor walked into the Coos Bay – North Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau this week and asked for our recommendations for great Fish and Chips, one of the volunteers and I got into a lively debate on the topic.
To settle the debate, I turned where anyone would go: The Oregon’s Adventure Coast Facebook Page. I figured SOMEBODY out there would be able to point us in the right direction.
I posted the question and saw some familiar recommendations of some popular local spots, and I can tell you that each of these restaurants make a mean Fish-n-Chips dish: Captains Choice, High Tide , Rogers Zoo, Sea Basket, and Bandon Fish Market.
Then I saw a recommendation from one of our fans that surprised me- Coney Station. Now, I always knew Coney Station is a great local spot to grab a beer or a bite, but I had NO idea they serve Fish-n-Chips, and according to one of our fans- THE BEST Fish-n-Chips in the area. I am eager to get out there and try it myself!
Here is the list I compiled. Next time you are visiting (which will be soon I hope), try one (or all) of these great spots and ask for their Fish-n-Chips. Let them know the locals love em!
