Geocaching in Oregon’s Adventure Coast!
What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. More information can be found at www.geocaching.com.
Cache in On Adventure
Since its origins right here in Oregon in May, 2000 Geocaching has taken off and Coos County is rich with opportunities. To find caches, enter our zipcode, 97420, in the Geocaching.com website and you’ll be amazed by over 1000 caches hidden in our area.
As part of the Southern Oregon Coast, we’re fortunate enough to be home of a very active geocaching group, the South Coast Geocachers. They are always excited to greet fellow geocachers and throw annual events. For more information, visit their facebook page or join them on Wednesdays, 7am at Kaffe 101 in Coos Bay.
