Coos Art Museum
Coos Art Museum235 Anderson, Coos Bay
Established in 1950, the Coos art Museum is the third oldest Art museum in Oregon. Housed in the former US Post Office, an art deco style building, the museum features multi-discipline changing exhibits and a highly regarded permanent print collection of Contemporary Northwest Art. The Steve Prefontaine Memorial Gallery is on the 2nd floor.

Coos Historical and Maritime Museum
1220 Sherman Ave. North Bend

The third-oldest historical society in the state boasts more than 70,000 historic photographs and more than 40,000 artifacts. Visitors to the Coos Historical & Maritime Museum learn of the county's challenging and varied terrain, and gain a historic overview via a 20-foot-long photo collage timeline. The county's diverse history is communicated through artifacts and images, including items associated with the Coos and Coquille Indians, and with later coal miners, loggers, ranchers, and shipbuilders. Local shipwrecks are chronicled, along with frequently changed exhibits on a wide variety of topics for the period 1860-1975.

Marshfield Sun Printing Museum
Front St. & Bayshore (Hwy 101 North) Coos Bay
Features original equipment of The Sun Newspaper (1891 –1944) and exhibits on printing and local history.
Hours: Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Tues-Sat 1pm – 4pm. For group tours or other times of the year call 541-266-0901 or 541-267-3762.

Railroad and logging equipment in an outdoor display area, and a mini-museum with photos and railroad memorabilia. Signature piece is a restored 1922 Baldwin steam locomotive that worked for many decades in the region’s forests. Ring the bell! Also displayed is a diesel switcher locomotive used in a local sawmill, along with roadbuilding machines used in conjuntion with railroad logging, and a recently acquired Southern Pacific caboose. Monthly meetings are the second Monday at 7 p.m. in the museum. Welcome aboard!
