Visitors who come to Oregon’s Adventure Coast in the fall can choose from a variety of activities, whether it’s on a hiking trail , casino gaming , mountain biking , fishing , crabbing , clamming , exploring the Oregon Dunes , beachcombing, tide pooling , and even storm watching when conditions allow. The region also offers unique art, history, and culture that set us apart.
Now, we’re adding another reason to visit this fall: the FALL PASS.
What is the FALL PASS?
The Oregon’s Adventure Coast FALL PASS is a savings card that is given to anyone who stays at one of our participating properties between October 1 and November 30, 2026 (one Fall Pass per reservation). Visitors with a FALL PASS will receive exclusive offers from beloved local businesses, merchants, and restaurants in Coos Bay, North Bend, and Charleston. Think of it as a “Thank You” from our community just for visiting.
To get your hands on one of these savings cards, all you have to do is stay at one of our participating properties between October 1 and November 30. You will receive your FALL PASS upon checking in, and you’re free to use it at any of the participating merchants listed on our website. No special codes, no phone calls, no catch (other than the fish).

Try Fishing, Crabbing or Clamming
Autumn is ideal for fishing on Oregon’s Adventure Coast, with opportunities in 30 freshwater lakes and rivers in Coos County, as well as bay and ocean fishing. It is also an excellent season for crabbing and clamming. Local sporting goods stores offer rentals, licenses, and expert advice. FALL PASS holders receive special offers at businesses such as Captain John’s Fisherman’s Wharf , Davey Jones Locker , and Lucky Landings Fishing Charter.

See the Colorful Blooms at Shore Acres State Park
Before the Annual Shore Acres Holiday Lights Display begins on Thanksgiving Day, the all-seasons garden, formerly part of Louis J. Simpson’s private estate, features a final seasonal highlight: bright, bold dahlias. With 250–300 varieties in a range of colors and shapes, the garden becomes dreamlike. Visitors will also discover a remarkable collection of flowers, plants, evergreen shrubs, and trees, including Oregon’s largest Monterey Pine, along with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. Please note there is a $10 parking fee per vehicle at Shore Acres State Park.
Go Mountain Biking on the Whiskey Run MTB System
Thanks to mild weather, mountain bikers from across the Pacific Northwest can enjoy moderate climbs, fun descents, and beautiful views of the Coos County Forest along the Whiskey Run Mountain Bike Trails , a regional favorite, during the autumn months. Whiskey Run is about 15 minutes from Bandon or Coos Bay, just off Highway 101. The trails are built to handle Oregon Coast weather, but it’s best to avoid riding if they’re muddy. Check trail reports or contact local shops, like Blue Sky Bike Shop , or guides for the latest conditions.
Get Out on the Water
Exploring Coos Bay, North Bend, and Charleston by water is enjoyable even in autumn. Paddle a kayak through calm bays and estuaries, surf at Bastendorff Beach, or try stand-up paddleboarding. Explore the Oregon Dunes
If there’s one thing every new visitor to Oregon’s Adventure Coast should experience, it’s a visit to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area , the largest expanse of coastal dunes in North America and our region’s most iconic landscape. Many visitors say the dunes are the highlight of their trip and describe the experience as stepping into another world. One of the more popular ways to explore the Oregon Dunes is on a pulse-pounding ATV or OHV ride . If you don’t own one, multiple businesses offer rentals. Hiking and/or biking through sections of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is a one-of-a-kind experience, and some visitors even like to go sandboarding or sledding!
Find Inner Peace
These days, we could all use less noise and more peace and quiet. Oregon’s Adventure Coast is an excellent destination for forest bathing , or Shinrin-yoku, a Japanese practice that involves immersing oneself in nature and engaging all five senses to foster a deeper connection with the environment. This practice inspires awe, which has been shown to lower stress, improve mood, and boost the immune system. Research confirms that time in nature reduces cortisol (the stress hormone) and increases serotonin (the happiness hormone), promoting overall mental and physical health.
