Oregon’s Adventure Coast Welcomes Back OSAA 3A State Basketball Championship Tournament March 2-4, 2023

Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston Ready for Non-Stop State Basketball Action!
It’s official! Marshfield High School and North Bend High School will again be the sites of this year’s OSAA 3A State Basketball Championship Tournaments on Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston March 2 - 4, 2023. This is great news for the local community, as final preparations are being made to ensure a seamless experience for these young athletes, along with school faculty members, families and friends traveling to the towns of Coos Bay, North Bend and Charleston to cheer them on!
“We’ve had the privilege of hosting the OSAA Basketball State Tournaments for the last 12 years,” says Janice Langlinais, Executive Director of the Coos Bay-North Bend-Charleston Visitor & Convention Bureau. “As a community, we embrace these young athletes, their coaches and families, and spend weeks preparing for their arrival. It is our hope that our visitors have the opportunity to bond and enjoy new experiences on Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston.”
Oregon’s Adventure Coast is renowned for consistently delivering a “VIP” experience for its tournament visitors by hanging welcome signs in businesses throughout the area. Each team is assigned a local “greeter” to assist during the event, along with a meal for the team during the tournament. The community also hosts an annual dinner for the coaches and a separate meal for all players on the eve of the tournament, followed by a 3-point shootout at North Bend High School. Here are some memories from last year’s tournament, and a few from previous years.
Langlinais says she is looking forward to seeing the best that Oregon has to offer in high school basketball this spring! The tournament will feature teams from all over Oregon, and it promises to be an exciting event. The action begins on Thursday afternoon, March 2nd, and concludes with the championship game on Saturday, March 4th.
