Though North Bend, Oregon is part of a greater community known as Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston - this historical town has a distinct vibe and character of its own. Situated on the “North Bend” of the bay, this town boasts great beaches, shopping , the Oregon Dunes , gaming , the Oregon Coast’s only airport , and plenty of great food! 

Last month, we spotlighted some of our visitor’s favorite restaurants in Coos Bay, and as promised, we’re taking a closer look at the local restaurants that make North Bend such a special place to visit (don’t worry, Charleston! You’re next).

Looking for a Great Place for Breakfast?

Pancake Mill Restaurant & Pie Shoppe- 2390 Tremont Ave. (Hwy 101). As seen on All Across Oregon , a unique food and travel series featured on PBS! Pancake Mill is one of the most popular breakfast spots in town, and worth the wait! Go later in the day for delicious lunch options, like home style soups, sandwiches and pie specialties. Plank House Restaurant at The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park - 3201 Tremont Ave. Start your morning with a fresh, hot cup of coffee or London Fog tea (with or without the “spirits”), overlooking the peaceful, shimmering waters of Coos Bay! If you haven’t heard, the recently unveiled breakfast menu at Plank House Restaurant is getting rave reviews and worth a try! Mom’s Kitchen - 1603 Sherman Avenue. ​​This little gem of diner is a popular daytime spot with North Bend residents and visitors alike! No trip to Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston is complete without a fresh seafood meal! Here are some local favorites that come highly recommended! 

Captain’s Choice Fish House - 1210 Virginia Ave. This beloved North Bend restaurant has a distinct coastal town vibe and is known locally for its crave-worthy clam chowder, crab melt, and fish and chips! Try Wildflour Public House- 1987 Sherman Avenue​​​​​​. Wildflour Public House believes in fresh, simple and delicious ingredients and is passionate about food - where it comes from, how it tastes, how it is prepared and presented.
