Though North Bend, Oregon is part of a greater community known as Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston - this historical town has a distinct vibe and character of its own. Situated on the “North Bend” of the bay, this town boasts great beaches, shopping , the Oregon Dunes , gaming , the Oregon Coast’s only airport , and plenty of great food! 

Last month, we spotlighted some of our visitor’s favorite restaurants in Coos Bay, and as promised, we’re taking a closer look at the local restaurants that make North Bend such a special place to visit (don’t worry, Charleston! You’re next). 

If you haven’t tried some of these restaurants in North Bend, Oregon lately (listed in no particular order) - you’re missing out! 

Looking for a Great Place for Breakfast? 

Whether your plans for the day are to go hiking, explore the Oregon Dunes, hit the casino, go tide pooling, kayaking or all the above - be sure to fuel up with a satisfying breakfast before heading out! Here are some of our visitor’s favorites: 

Pancake Mill Restaurant & Pie Shoppe- 2390 Tremont Ave. (Hwy 101). As seen on All Across Oregon , a unique food and travel series featured on PBS! Pancake Mill is one of the most popular breakfast spots in town, and worth the wait! Go later in the day for delicious lunch options, like home style soups, sandwiches and pie specialties. Open 6am-3pm daily.  

Plank House Restaurant at The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park - 3201 Tremont Ave. Start your morning with a fresh, hot cup of coffee or London Fog tea (with or without the “spirits”), overlooking the peaceful, shimmering waters of Coos Bay! If you haven’t heard, the recently unveiled breakfast menu at Plank House Restaurant is getting rave reviews and worth a try! If you’re not a breakfast person, you can also enjoy a fabulous lunch and dinner with a view almost as spectacular as the food!

Mom’s Kitchen - 1603 Sherman Avenue. ​​This little gem of diner is a popular daytime spot with North Bend residents and visitors alike! Mom’s Kitchen offers friendly service, delicious comfort food, breakfast classics and lunch favorites like burgers and sandwiches. Open from 6am to 2pm  

Dishner’s - 2603 Broadway Ave. From perfectly cooked steaks to fresh salads, the menu caters to various palates. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner in a family-friendly atmosphere daily from 6am-8pm.

Kozy Kitchen - 2265 Newmark. This 24 hour family restaurant specializes in great country cooking - not only will diners find hearty and delicious breakfast options, it’s a great spot for lunch/dinner or late night homemade dessert!

Craving a Tasty Burger or Sandwich? 

When hunger strikes, sometimes an old-fashioned burger or sandwich is all you need. North Bend has a variety of destinations for satisfying that craving. Here are just a few of our visitors raved about: 

Vinny’s Smokin' Good Burgers & Sandwiches - 3385 Broadway Ave. As seen on All Across Oregon ! Hungry diners will find mouthwatering burgers and epic sandwiches right in the heart of North Bend! Be sure to try Vinny’s hand-cut French fries, seasoned to your liking (regular, parmesan garlic or Cajun).

Yeong’s Place- 1120 Virginia Ave. There’s a reason this unassuming little burger joint consistently makes our list of local’s favorite burgers! Family owned and operated, Yeong’s Place specializes in delicious burgers, handmade shakes, salads and specialty sandwiches.  

Timbers Café at The Mill Casino * Hotel & RV Park - 3201 Tremont Ave. ​​​​Hearty sandwiches, burgers and more, or if you’re on the run and want to grab a quick bite. Breakfast served all day! Opens 6am - 2:30 am daily.

Bungalow Market & Deli - 2506 Sherman Ave. Enjoy the best sandwiches in town at Bungalow Market & Deli. Also a full service neighborhood market. Visit for hours and details. 

Longing for Fresh Seafood? 

No trip to Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston is complete without a fresh seafood meal! Here are some local favorites that come highly recommended! 

Captain’s Choice Fish House - 1210 Virginia Ave. This beloved North Bend restaurant has a distinct coastal town vibe and is known locally for its crave-worthy clam chowder, crab melt, and fish and chips! Add friendly service to the mix, and it’s no wonder Captain’s Choice Fish House is an Oregon’s Adventure Coast favorite!

Clausen Oyster Deli- 66234 North Bay Road. For a unique and authentic Oregon Coast dining experience, we recommend a visit to Clausen Oyster Farm & Bayside Restaurant/Deli! One diner summed it up perfectly on TripAdvisor : “This place is well worth the trip. Any kind of oysters you want, and done to perfection.” Hours vary according to season. Hilltop House- 93405 Willsey Ln.

Hilltop House serves up tasty local seafood, steaks, nightly specials, and both Manhattan and New England style chowder. The nostalgic setting overlooks the bay. Open daily.

Seeking Local Farm to Table Cuisine? 

Try Wildflour Public House- 1987 Sherman Avenue​​​​​​. Wildflour Public House believes in fresh, simple and delicious ingredients and is passionate about food - where it comes from, how it tastes, how it is prepared and presented. The Public House will be open for Dinner 3pm-8pm Wednesday through Saturday.

Craving Delicious Mexican Flavors? 

Craving something with a little spice or kick to it? There is no shortage of Mexican/Tex-Mex flavors in North Bend! Here’s a round up of some of the Mexican cuisine options offered in North Bend, Oregon: 

La Herradura- 1430 Vermont St. Enjoy delicious Mexican cuisine at family-owned La Herradura, where the menu features traditional seafood dishes and Mexican favorites. Open daily.  

Angelina’s Mexican Restaurant- 1860 Union Ave. When asked, locals will tell you that some of the freshest, authentic Mexican food on Oregon’s Adventure Coast can be found at this local food truck. Menu includes breakfast burritos, burritos and tacos. Check for hours/locations:  

**El Coyote Mexican Restaurant - 1930 Newmark St.**​​​​​​ North Bend’s newest Mexican Restaurant, located on Newmark at Broadway.  

**El Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant- 3491 Broadway Ave.**​​​​ Choose from Mexican and American menus at El Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant. They’re open for lunch and

Los Guerreros Mexican Restaurant- 1903 Sherman Ave. Serving authentic Mexican Cuisine.  

Maria’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant- 1802 Virginia Ave. Enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine at Maria’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant, where they only use the freshest ingredients. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

YaYa’s Burrito & Bowls- 3077 Broadway. Serving burritos, bowls, salads, nacho, and tacos with fresh ingredients made to order. Check out the Espresso Bar. All items can be purchased through the drive thru window as well!

Sometimes you’re looking for more than just a quick bite or meal. These local North Bend spots offer great food AND fun! 

**Back Alley Pub & Grill at North Bend Lanes - 1225 Virginia Ave.**​​​​ Offering great burgers, homemade pizza, grilled subs and soups, The Back Alley has something to please everyone, and it’s a great place to stop by and eat at any time of day. The prices are the best in town, and the food has been a favorite for over 50 years. Located in a modern bowling center with cosmic bowling.  

Liberty Pub- 2047 Sherman Ave. ​​​​​Continuing the tradition in a building built in 1908 that originally held one of North Bend’s earliest saloons, Liberty Pub’s intent is to provide guests with a true neighborhood pub – a relaxed and comfortable environment for adults in which to enjoy some great food and drink. Large groups (6 or more) can only be accommodated by a reservation, as the number of larger tables is extremely limited.

Humboldt Club & Restaurant - 2056 Sherman Ave. Known locally as a fun, modern “dive bar” - Humboldt Club & Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as pool, darts, video golf, foosball and more! Enjoy delicious daily specials and some of the best buffalo wings in the state of Oregon!  

Tiny’s Tavern- 1971 Union Ave. True to its name, this North Bend neighborhood staple offers burgers, beer and pub style food in a cozy atmosphere. Outdoor seating is also available!

Warehouse 101 at The Mill Casino * Hotel & RV Park- 3201 Tremont Ave. Take one part sports bar, pour in a splash of your favorite nightclub, mix generously, and you’ll have Warehouse 101. Featuring a large selection of craft brews and the largest selection of wings in town! With newly added sports packages, the largest video wall in the area, and additional flat screen TV’s, there’s no better place to catch your favorite game. Enjoy a great meal, a great drink, or choose from 20 craft brews in a casual, fun and friendly environment.

There’s no going back once you’re craving sweet and savory flavors of Asian inspired cuisine! Fortunately for Oregon’s Adventure Coast visitors, there are plenty of options to choose from! 

Lucky Dragon Buffet- 1611 Virginia Ave. Mongolian grill with fresh meats, vegetables, noodles and sauces cooked to order. Open Tuesday-Sunday 11:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Ira’s Asian Market - 1058 Virginia Ave. Ira’s Asian Market off Virginia in North Bend has a nice selection of Asian groceries and specialty fresh Asian veggies. They are also offering crave-worthy Filipino lunch take-out Monday-Friday, 10am - 5pm. Call for daily specials or visit

Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant- 3480 Tremont Ave. A local favorite serving delicious appetizers, dinner combos, chicken, beef, pork, seafood, rice, noodles, and more!  

Momiji- 3140 Tremont Ave. (Hwy 101)

Momiji’s goal is to fuse traditional sushi with a convenient, healthy solution, changing the perception of sushi using creative ideas and modernized techniques. Options include Japanese, sushi bar and create-your-own. Open Daily and located directly across from the Mill Casino.

Tai’s Dynasty - 1388 Virginia Ave. ​​​​​​Serving Chinese and American cuisine. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Beer and wine.

Looking for Delicious Vegan Options or Have Food Sensitivities? 

These two cafes may be just what you are looking for:

**The Tin Thistle - 1972 Sherman Ave.**The Tin Thistle Café is a Celtic themed whole foods vegan café with pasties, village bowls, vegetarian burgers, soup, pies and smoothies.  

Humble Hippies Artisan Cafe - in the Pony Village Mall, 1611 Virginia Ave. A humble little Cafe specializing in dietary friendly goodies, wraps, baked goods, coffee and local community art.

Delicious Italian Pizza, Pasta and Sandwiches? 

Look no further than Gino’s Pizza Inn - 1324 Virginia Ave. Guests can enjoy pizza, sandwiches, pasta and Gino’s famous mojos. Don’t forget to try Benetti’s minestrone soup. Open for lunch and dinner.

Need to Satisfy that Sweet Tooth? 

You’re in for a treat at Sweet Street - 2001 Union Ave. Family owned and operated, Sweet Street offers 18 flavors of popcorn, fresh fudge, caramel apples, cotton candy, Hawaiian shaved ice, fun candy, taffy, specialty chocolates and ice cream.

Try Hawaiian Grindz- 1055 Virginia Ave. One of the newer restaurants in North Bend offers delicious Hawaiian food featuring plates, bowls, and desserts.

  • Simpson Park - Named for North Bend’s founder, Simpson Park is home to Oregon’s Merci Train BoxCar. The Forty and Eight rail car was given to the U.S. in appreciation by the French following World War II, celebrating its 75th anniversary. The park also features a covered picnic area, playground and restrooms.
  • The Oregon Dunes Recreational Area. If you’re looking for a truly unique experience during your Oregon Coast vacation, explore the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America! Adventure seekers can go off-road ATVing, hiking, horseback riding and camping. With the Pacific Ocean, lakes, ponds, and streams, you can even be an amphibious adventurer!
  • Liberty Theatre, North Bend Home of the Little Theatre on the Bay. The second oldest continuous acting group in the state of Oregon, the theatre offers live musical and dramatic performances year-round. The theatre has undergone a large restoration project over the past several years.  
  • Horsfall Beach and the North Spit, named as one of Sunset Magazine’s top ten beach strolls in the western region, Horsfall Beach and the North Spit is a must see destination for all visitors! This beautiful secluded beach, located within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, is a great place for beachcombing with plenty of parking, lots of uninterrupted beach, and various other natural amenities. Perfect for pets and kids.
