Is your soul craving a summer road trip? There’s always something happening on Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston, but summer is always our most active season! Summer brings lots of sunshine and temperate weather to our region, making it an ideal time to experience the natural beauty and coastal views that can’t be found anywhere else in the country.

As an added bonus, things are beginning to look a lot more “normal” around here, and many event organizers have decided that it’s time to gather once more. You can always go to our Events Page & Calendar to get the latest information, but we’ve compiled some highlights happening next month on Oregon’s Adventure Coast to help you plan your ideal adventure. So book your hotel, pack your bags and get ready for a Summer Adventure you’ll always treasure!

Need something even sooner? The Mill Casino’s BBQ, Blues & Brews on the Bay will be back this Memorial Day Weekend (May 28-29, 2022) This tasty event features finger lickin’ good barbecue, hand-crafted beers and smokin’ hot tunes!

June 3, 2022

Downtown Coos Bay Wine Walk - Visit participating businesses in downtown Coos Bay for the monthly Wine Walk adventure on the First Friday of each month! The fun starts at the Coos Bay Visitor Center, 50 Central Avenue, Coos Bay, OR 97420. Make a $10 donation and get a commemorative wine glass (while supplies last) and the map of participating businesses. Proceeds will benefit a different charity each month. This event is sponsored by the Coos Bay – North Bend Rotary Club.

June 4-5, 2022

Whiskey Run Mountain Biking Festival - Riders of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to come out and explore this awesome trail system on a guided group ride in a fun and supportive environment. There will be family rides, beginner rides, intermediate, and advanced ride options. This celebration will include food, music & beverages on site.

Free Fishing Weekend - The first weekend in June is Oregon’s traditional Free Fishing Weekend. In the past, ODFW and its partners have sponsored several free fishing events throughout the state.

June 9 - June 18, 2022

Lebowski, Prince of Ninepins - Don’t miss this “Shakespearean comedic tragical mystery satire”! After its sold out run in Coos Bay in 2019, Lebowski, Prince of Ninepins is coming to the Liberty Theatre! All performances are at 7pm, Thursday through Saturday, June 9th-11th & 16th-18th. This show contains some adult language and situations.

Free Day at Coos History Museum & Maritime Collection - Every second Saturday of the month, admission to your Coos History Museum is FREE! Join their new CHM Explorer’s Club with children’s activities in the Sprague Gallery from 10 am-12 noon.

June 18-19, 2022

Coos History Museum Annual Juneteenth Celebration - Juneteenth, also known as Jubilee Day or Freedom Day, is the oldest national celebration marking the ending of slavery in the United States. The Coos History Museum is kicking off their Annual Juneteenth Celebration with a Special Edition Tuesday Talk on Tuesday, June 14th. The museum is also planning an array of activities including music, dance, celebration and more the weekend of June 18th and 19th.

June 22- 26, 2022

UTV TakeOver 2022 - UTV enthusiasts from around the country are gathering for the largest community riding events of the year at Boxcar Hill Campground . With more than 30 family-friendly activities to participate in, UTV Takeover is about bringing the community together.Surrounding campgrounds and VIP sand camping make this an all-around unforgettable experience!

Downtown Coos Bay Wine Walk -There will be a SPECIAL EXTRA Wine Walk for a conference that is being held at The Mill Casino that week for the Family Motor Coach Association, but the general public are also invited to attend.

  • Coos Bay Farmers Market - Held each Wednesday in Downtown Coos Bay from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m, the Coos Bay Farmers Market is the fresh you’ve been craving! You’ll find fresh, locally grown produce, eggs, honey, meat, baked goods, soaps, candles, homemade jams, jellies, and unique creations handcrafted by local artisans in an open-air setting in the heart of downtown Coos Bay. The CBDA Farmers Market is located on Central Avenue between Highway 101 South and 4th Street in downtown Coos Bay.
  • Art, History & Cultural Exhibits - Explore our amazing network of museums, galleries, and live performances! Here are some of the current exhibits and news.

  • South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve Interpretive Center - After two years of limited operations, South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve is re-opening the doors of its Visitor Center – and displaying a new exhibit in partnership with local Tribes .The Visitor Center, which has interpretive exhibits on coastal ecosystems, plants and animals, cultural history, and science, is now open to the public every Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are miles of beautiful hiking trails and waterways to explore in addition to classes/workshops for all ages.

July 3rd & 4th Fireworks Over The Bay - We can’t wait for all of the fun Independence Day festivities taking place on Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston! Our annual Independence Day festivities will kick off with the Oregon Coast’s largest fireworks display on July 3rd in front of The Mill Casino . Stick around for the Firecracker Run - 1/2 Mile Kids Run and 4K Run/Walk and the City of Coos Bay’s Fireworks display over Coos Bay by the Coos Bay Boardwalk on July 4, 2022! More information coming soon on other July 4th Activities.
