Oregon’s Adventure Coast is known as a destination where the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest meets coastal hospitality and endless adventure. Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, we wanted to round up some of our favorite breakfast/brunch spots where visitors can fuel up for a big day of adventure. From bustling restaurants serving up traditional breakfast/brunch favorites to locally owned coffee houses, we’ve curated a list of brunch spots that capture the friendly, relaxed essence of Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston (listed in alphabetical order):

#1- The Blue Heron Bistro, Coos Bay - This is a must-see destination for every visitor! Nestled in the heart of downtown Coos Bay, the Blue Heron Bistro offers a taste of Germany with a hint of local flavor, and is gaining a reputation as offering one of the best brunches in town on Sundays (while supplies last). Diners enjoy their decadent french toasts (made in house), homemade biscuits, hand cut fruit, and more!

#2- Mom’s Kitchen, North Bend - This little gem of a diner is a popular daytime spot with North Bend residents and visitors alike! Mom’s Kitchen offers friendly service, delicious comfort food, breakfast classics and lunch favorites like burgers and sandwiches. Open from 6am to 2pm

#3- Pancake Mill Restaurant & Pie Shoppe, North Bend- There is a reason why Pancake Mill is one of the most popular breakfast spots in town and was recently featured on the PBS program, All Across Oregon ! Visitors and locals can’t get enough of their sweet and savory breakfast/brunch options, like their Swedish pancakes, and, as one Google review states, “Best hash browns I’ve had in a long time - crispy and worth the wait!”

#4- Plank House Restaurant at The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park - North Bend - There’s been a lot of buzz about the new breakfast/brunch menu in this local gem hidden in plain sight! Start your morning with one of their decadent brunch specialties, which includes a featured breakfast pastry and fresh fruit with a fresh, hot cup of coffee or London Fog tea (with or without the “spirits”). Not to mention, the view of the bay is almost as spectacular as the food!

#5 Stockpot Restaurant, Coos Bay - This family-owned local favorite is known for serving up a traditional American breakfast/brunch with a smile. Visitors appreciate the service, the quality of the food, and the value. One Google reviewer says the Stockpot Restaurant is ** ** a “truly amazing little gem in Coos Bay…Nice big plates and fresh food. There is always a truck load of people but don’t let that scare you off. If there is a wait, it’s short and well worth it”.

But wait, there’s more! These local eateries and coffee shops are also serving up plenty of delicious options and hot coffee with local flair that won’t disappoint.

Cafe 1297, Coos Bay - Located inside Three Rivers Casino, the menu features daily breakfast (served from 8am - 11am) and lunch specials and offers a full-service bar.

Cape Arago Café & Espresso, Charleston - Looking for something quick and on the go? You can’t go wrong with this local sit down and Drive-Thru restaurant! Call ahead for meal pick-up at the window!

Dishner’s Fine Foods, North Bend - Enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner in a family-friendly atmosphere at Dishner’s Fine Foods. Open daily 6am-8pm.

Empire Donuts, Coos Bay - Visitors are raving about this sweet family-owned and operated donut shop in the Historic Empire District. Swing by to try out a variety of fresh donuts daily, as well as great local coffee and other beverages.

Espresso Mill & Bakery, Coos Bay - This charming downtown eatery is known for its delicious coffee, breakfast sandwiches, wraps, pastries and top-notch service. It’s a great stop before heading out on your big adventure!

Foggy’s Cafe', Charleston - Craving made-from-scratch local food, espresso, and real fruit smoothies on the go? Look no further than this popular takeout cafe in Charleston!

Kaffe 101, Coos Bay - Great spot in downtown Coos Bay to catch up with family and friends over a hot, fresh cup of coffee and delicious pastries. This local spot also offers a nice array of breakfast and free Wi-Fi.

Kozy Kitchen, North Bend- This 24-hour family restaurant specializes in great country cooking - not only will diners find hearty and delicious breakfast options, it’s a great spot for lunch/dinner or late night homemade dessert!

Monkey Business - In the Charleston Marina, this local eatery offers brunch specials including strawberry banana waffles, breakfast sandwiches, and on occasion, a scrumptious crab cake benedict!

So It Goes Coffeehouse, Coos Bay- This quaint locally owned bakery and coffeehouse is located in Downtown Coos Bay. Enjoy the art, play a game of chess, or peruse the used books. Visit So It Goes Coffeehouse’s Facebook page for live music and a special event schedule.

The Tin Rooster, North Bend - This eclectic coffee shop and pastry restaurant features savory croissants, freshly baked goods, house-roasted coffees, espresso, teas and more! Just look for the rooster outside (it’s a signal that they are open for business inside).
