Local Markets

CBDA Farmers Market

Schedule: Wednesdays, May through October 9 a.m -2 p.m.

Location: Central Ave between Hwy 101 and 4th Street - Downtown Coos Bay

Description: The Coos Bay Downtown Association’s (CBDA) Coos Bay Farmers Market is the “granddaddy” of all farmers markets on Oregon’s Adventure Coast and features nearly 100 local farmers, artisans, and food vendors. Throughout the years, the CBDA Farmers Market has evolved into a community staple offering a wide array of goods and activities to residents and visitors, including fresh locally grown produce, a food court, music, entertainment, samples, demonstrations, artistic treasures, children’s programs, and food accessibility programs. Visitors can interact with vendors, learn about their products, and support their businesses.

Bay Area Farmers & Artisans Market

Schedule: Wednesdays through April 24, 2024 - 10 a.m. -2 p.m.

Location: 999 N Front St., Coos Bay

Description: This local community farmers market runs from late fall into early spring. Here, shoppers will find local coffee, honey, seasonal fruits and vegetables, and much more.

The Coastal Market

Schedule: Saturdays, May 4-Sept 28, 2024 9am -4pm

Location: Pony Village Mall, North Bend

Description: This NEW community driven market was recently launched by the owners of Get Yappy dog treats. See below for details.

Coos Head Food Co-Op

Schedule: Open 7 days a week year-round, see store website for current hours of operation. Grab & Go Deli is open Monday - Saturday from 9 AM to 3 PM

Location: 353 2nd Street, one block west of Highway 101 near Curtis St.

Description: Since 1971, Coos Head Food Co-Op has been committed to offering wholesome, natural, and organic foods to locals and visitors! As the oldest operating natural food store on the Southern Oregon Coast, Coos Head Food Co-Op offers a wide variety of local food options as well as operates a fully organic, primarily from scratch Grab & Go Deli. It’s the perfect place to grab delicious salads, sandwiches, deli side dishes, organic juices, rotating hot soups, and local sustainably caught tuna for tuna sandwiches accompanied with gluten-free options as well.

Natural Grocers

Schedule: Open 7 days a week year-round, see store website for current hours of operation.

Location: 598 N Broadway, Coos Bay (off of the Oregon Coast Hwy and Park Ave)

Description: The Natural Grocers in Coos Bay is a retail chain that offers natural groceries, organic produce, dietary vitamins and supplements, body care, free nutrition education, and more. The “Grab and Go” section is a great spot for visitors looking for a quick bite that’s not fast food.

When you are exploring a new destination, finding the right spot to eat can sometimes be a challenge. That is why we took some recommendations from our visitors and divided them up into “bite sized” pieces of information for our visitors to access.

Food Trucks

Front Street Food Trucks is a family-friendly Food Truck Court/Pod with a full-service bar! This foodie destination is the perfect place for families and/or groups of friends to enjoy some delicious food and drinks. From Mexican fare to gourmet waffles to BBQ, there’s something for every taste and craving! Be sure to follow them on Facebook for a current listing of food trucks & hours.

Wild Rivers Coast Food Trail

Schedule: Open to visitors year-round and designed to be explored at your own pace. Business hours may vary.

Location: Various locations on Oregon’s South Coast. The trail runs from Brookings to Reedsport, and inland to Myrtle Point.

Description: Treat yourself to a one-of-a-kind tasting adventure you can only find along the Wild Rivers Coast Food Trail , a collaborative effort to connect locals and visitors to the bounty available on Oregon’s South Coast. Over forty businesses in categories ranging from farms, farm-to-table, seafood producers, local markets, craft brews & spirits, and artisan products are taking part. Food must be sourced within 150 miles of their respective locations. We are especially proud to have multiple businesses representing Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston! Festivals

  • Annual BBQ, Blues & Brews on the Bay - May 25-26, 2024 (Memorial Day Weekend). Get ready for the return of lip-smackin' BBQ, incredible brews, and smokin' hot tunes.

     

  • Annual Margarita-Mill - July 12-13, 2024. Don’t miss this two-day outdoor event featuring taco trucks and restaurateurs from around the state competing for the title of People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice Best Taco, Best Plate, and Best Booth Décor. Each vendor will have a full menu to serve to the public, as well a sample item, for purchase.

     

  • Annual The Mill Casino Food Truck Off - August 2-4, 2024. This three-day event will feature up to 20 food trucks from the Pacific Northwest. Bring the whole family to enjoy this great outdoor event. Feast yourself on the goods while the trucks compete in a cook-off for the best in several categories.

     

  • Annual Blackberry Arts Festival - August 24 - 25, 2024. Blackberry arts, food, and drink are the fare at this popular Craft event in downtown Coos Bay. Featuring live music with the Blackberry Jam all weekend long!

     

  • Annual Mill-Luck Salmon Celebration September 14 - 15, 2024. The Annual Mill-Luck Salmon Celebration is a tribute to Native American and Coquille Tribal culture. This fun-filled weekend is full of family events and entertainment and features a traditional salmon bake meal. This outdoor festival is free and open to the public, tickets to the salmon bake meal are sold separately.

     

  • Annual Bay Area Fun Festival - September 21-22 2024. What began as a birthday celebration for Coos Bay’s 100th Birthday 50 years ago, has grown into the greatest end-of-summer celebration on the South Coast! This year, we’ll be celebrating Coos Bay’s 150th Birthday. Thousands of locals and visitors from afar come to enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of beautiful downtown Coos Bay and surrounding areas for this popular festival. Highlights include live entertainment, the famous Cruz the Coos featuring nearly 500 vintage automobiles, the Prefontaine Memorial Run, the BAFF parade, and much more!
