There’s just something about Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston that folks love unconditionally! Guess you could say that “love is in the air” around here! With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we thought this would be a great time to share some ideas on how to impress your significant other on Oregon’s Adventure Coast.

#1- Charleston Crab Feed. If you’re going to be in town the weekend of February 11, 2023- you’re going to want to experience the Annual Charleston Crab Feed happening that Saturday from 11am-3pm at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB). #2- Go ATVing! Rent an ATV and take an epic ride on the wild side along the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area , the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America.

#3- Wine & Dine in a locally owned restaurant. #4 - Oregon Coast Ice Skating! Go ice skating at the North Bend Ice Skating Rink , open through February 19, 2023!

#7- Sample delicious spirits! Taste handcrafted rum, vodka, and whiskey at Stillwagon Distillery (by appointment only).

#8-Explore Sunset Bay State Park- at sunset, of course! If weather allows, go on a romantic picnic on the beach at Sunset Bay State Park to watch the sun set over wine and cheese.

#10- Look for wildlife! Go on an adventurous drive and spend the day exploring the beaches and state parks along the Cape Arago Highway. Watch the seals and sea lions on Simpson Reef and Shell Island , part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge .

#11- Search for public art displays. Take a self-guided public art tour with this Public Art Trail map (courtesy of the Oregon Coast Visitors Association ) and be on the lookout for other whimsical displays throughout downtown Coos Bay, North Bend and Charleston.

#12- Hunt for treasures. Go shopping and search for rare finds in one of our local antique shops. The towns of Coos Bay, North Bend and Charleston have a rich and unique history, making this region a treasure trove for collectors.

#13- Hike to waterfalls. Experience nature at it’s best on a romantic daytime hike through lush coastal forests to Golden and Silver Falls State Natural Area , two magnificent waterfalls here on Oregon’s Adventure Coast.

#15- Relax with a fresh cup of joe. Enjoy a delicious, hot cup of coffee and a delicious pastry at a local coffee shop or bakery. #17 Go on a beach walk. Take a romantic walk along a beautiful, pristine beach . Watch the surfers on Bastendorff Beach, or search for natural treasures in tide pools in the protected beach in Sunset Bay State Park.Visitors going to the beach should be aware of coastal safety hazards with the potential danger of undertows, sneaker waves, and rolling logs. #18 Get lucky at a casino! Spend the night gaming in one of our casinos ! Whether it’s slots, cards, or games, you’ll find plenty of round-the-clock adventure, fun, and (fingers crossed) good luck!

#19 Explore the laid back entertainment scene. Enjoy a super-fun night of Cosmic Bowling at North Bend Lanes, or grab a pint at 7 Devils Brewing Co . or one of our other local pubs!
