5 Roadtrip-Worthy Races on Oregon's Adventure Coast

If you’re planning to train for a race, take a look at the events happening on Oregon’s Adventure Coast in Coos Bay, North Bend, and Charleston.

The secret is out! It’s official. Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, and Charleston is a fantastic destination for runners . Not only is running in this region ideal for training and building endurance, but it also reduces stress and improves overall well-being.

Solo runners of all skill levels appreciate the meditative experience of running along the rugged ocean-view trails, rolling hills, lush forests, beaches, and city parks. However, group running can foster community, friendship, and motivation, and there’s no shortage of that here either.

Oregon’s Adventure Coast is home to multiple popular annual running events that blend camaraderie, challenge, and friendly competition. Here are some races to consider and start training for now.

Roseburg to Coos Bay Relay- April 25, 2026

This scenic route follows quiet country roads along a river, passing waterfalls, tall trees, and some challenging hills. You can choose between a 68-mile relay for teams of five runners or a 24-mile relay for teams of four walkers. Circle the Bay 30K- August 8, 2026

Circle the Bay 30K is an 18-mile course around the bay, for which Coos Bay was named, that you can run solo or as part of a 3-person relay. The course typically starts at Ferry Road Park in North Bend, goes along the Coos Bay waterfront, circles the bay through Eastside, and finishes back at Ferry Road Park. Sunset Trail Run - August 29, 2026

This beautiful trail race along the Oregon Coast is characterized by its rigorous hills and quintessential Pacific Northwest beauty. Annual Prefontaine Memorial Run - September 19th 2026

Run Whiskey Run - October 10, 2026

Run Whiskey Run is an annual trail running event between Coos Bay and Bandon, where runners can explore the scenic Whiskey Run Mountain Bike Trail system on foot.
