Eight Fall Festivals You Have to See on Oregon’s Adventure Coast

Those of us who spend a lot of time at the Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston Visitor Center in downtown Coos Bay often hear what visitors have to say about our region. Many have told us that autumn is their favorite time to visit Oregon’s South Coast, and we tend to agree! Yes, we all love summer, but fall is also an optimal time to plan a getaway. During the autumn months, visitors often experience gorgeous weather (many locals refer to fall as the Oregon Coast’s “Second Summer”), smaller crowds, wide open beaches, and amazing fall festivals! Here are some fall festivals and events happening on Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston to look out for this season! 

Events That Are Ongoing or Happening Now 

  • Coos Bay Downtown Farmers Market - Every Wednesday now through October 25, 2023​​​​​​. The CBDA Farmers Market , a popular open-air Farmers Market hosted by Coos Bay Downtown Association , happens each Wednesday from 9am-2pm in the heart of downtown Coos Bay. This popular market has nearly 90 vendors throughout the season. It features fresh, locally grown produce, eggs, honey, meat, baked goods, soaps, candles, homemade jams, jellies, and unique creations handcrafted by local artisans. Learn More.
  • Music On The Bay - FREE Concert Series Every Thursday now through Sept. 14, 2023. Bring a picnic, dance, and enjoy Music On the Bay at Mingus Park Amphitheater every Thursday evening through September 14, 2023 at 7 p.m. Learn more . 
  • Coastal Farmers Market - Every Sunday. Be sure to stop by the NEW Coastal Farmers Market with local food and local farmers located in the Historic Flora Building (999 N. Front Street in Coos Bay) on Sundays from 12-4! Learn more. 
  • Downtown Coos Bay Wine Walk - First Friday of the month (except January). Join the Coos Bay - North Bend Rotary on the first Friday of each month (except January) for the Downtown Coos Bay Wine Walk! Now with two starting locations: Coos Bay Visitor Center or Checkerberry’s Flowers to pick up your map & wine glass with a $10 Donation. All proceeds go to a different nonprofit organization each month. Learn more

Oregon’s Adventure Coast Events & Festivals Coming Up! 

Choose from some of our most popular annual fall festivals and experience something new at one of our NEW up-and-coming events for 2023!  

#1 Annual Mill-Luck Salmon Celebration

September 9-10, 2023. Don’t miss this annual outdoor festival celebrating the heritage, culture and traditions of the Coquille Indian Tribe and other Pacific Northwest Tribes at The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park! Throughout the weekend, festival attendees can enjoy free daily performances by Native American storytellers, drummers, flutists and dancers, a marketplace offering traditional wares and foods, a bay-front canoe exhibit and races, traditional games and activities for children, plus various cultural demonstrations and educational exhibits for the whole family. The traditional salmon bake meal, a ticketed event, will be served from 11 AM – 5 PM Saturday and 11 AM – 4 PM Sunday. Tickets for the Salmon Bake Meal are available in Ko-Kwel Gifts and include a commemorative Salmon Celebration tee shirt (while supplies last). Guests may also purchase their meal at the meal tent during the event. Learn more .

#2 Annual Bay Area Fun Festival 

September 16-17, 2023. The third weekend of September is always fun here on Oregon’s Adventure Coast! The Annual Bay Area Fun Festival (September 16-17, 2023) features live music, street vendors, unique wares, delicious food and drink, and a parade through downtown Coos Bay! This event is held in conjunction with the Annual Cruz the Coos and Show ‘n Shine and Prefontaine Memorial Run . Learn more . 

#3 Annual Cruz the Coos and Show ‘n Shine

September 16, 2023. One of the longest-running and largest classic car cruises on the Oregon Coast will be back again Saturday, September 16, 2023! The Cruz the Coos and Show ‘n Shine, presented by the Coos Bay-North Bend Rotary Club , is not to be missed! Learn more .

#4 Annual Prefontaine Memorial Run

September 16, 2023. A rolling and challenging course, this 10K road race honors one of America’s greatest distance runners, Steve Prefontaine. Event includes the 10K run and a 2M walk. Learn more

#5 Annual Mahaffy Ranch Harvest Festival 

September 29-October 31, 2023. Mahaffy Ranch , a local “U-Pick” Pumpkin Patch, is once again offering visitors plenty of fun, fall-themed activities for all ages! 2023 activities will include Hay Rides, a Corn Maze, Corn Cannon, Farm Animals and so much more! Learn more . 

#6 Octoberfish

October 7. 2023. Come celebrate Coos culture, art, music, yoga & movement workshops, food, and activities at Octoberfish , a FREE, family-friendly event that happens annually on the first Saturday in October! It’s the Official After Party for Run Whiskey Run! This year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 7th from 10am to 4pm at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology: OIMB . #7 Run Whiskey Run and Clean Up Fun Run

October 7-8, 2023. If you have ever wanted to take on the trails at Whiskey Run, but not on a mountain bike, this is your chance! The South Coast Running Club invites you to the Run Whiskey Run and Clean Up Fun Run , a one-of-a-kind run through the now famous Whiskey Run Mountain Biking Trail System . Learn more

#8 Annular Solar Eclipse

October 14, 2023 ​​​​​​. Be among the first in the U.S. to experience the 2023 annular solar eclipse (a.k.a. “Ring of Fire” event) on Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston the morning of Saturday, October 14, 2023!  Eclipse glasses are currently available at the Coos Bay Visitor Center for $1 each (while supplies last). Several local businesses and community organizations are planning events to honor the occasion, like the North Bend Ring of Fire Revelry Block Party (we’ll add more events to our calendar closer to the date).
